Glass Houses

Dale Chihuly is known for revolutionizing the glassworks movement by breaking free of the idea of solitary artists working alone in a studio, and has embraced the advantages of collaborative teams and the unusual division of labor within the creative process.

In this way he has been able to develop complex, multipart sculptures of dramatic beauty that move blown glass out of the confines of a small, precious object and into the realms of large-scale contemporary sculptures.

He creates permanant installations used to embellish amongst the many… The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, The Victoria and Albert Museum, and temporary (!!!) installations at The Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew,

His glassworks are monumental, but delicate, fluid and ethereal. I want one!
